Spiritual Inspiration: She Shall Not Be Moved

God is our strength, provider, and protector. He is a very present help in the times of need. God is aware of the things we need to conquer in our lives, before we even have visibility on them. Psalm 46:1 informs us that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of need”. When we turn our eyes to God, setbacks become valuable experience. We no longer live in bondage because we now know and understand that regardless of life circumstances, heartaches, or struggles in the midst of it all; God is right there with us.

We cannot allow ourselves to become so discouraged that we become fixated on the past, (past mistakes, failures, what we should have, and could have done) instead of focusing on moving forward in faith. God has opportunities, promises, and purposes waiting to be revealed and presented to us. As women, as mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, girl bosses, friends, and sheroes; we have to constantly remind ourselves “she shall not be moved”, then make every effort to conquer our struggles by FAITH. When we become rooted in the Word of God disappointments start to turn into victories and the victim soon becomes the survivor. God’s desire is for us to live a fulfilling, faith-led, joyous, and prosperous life. He never said that it would be easy, but he did promise to comfort and guide us through it all.

It is imperative that in this season we remain faithful and prayerful, on our glamorous days as well as those trying days. Regardless of what may be going on in our lives or around us, we have to start operating within the power that God has blessed us with. God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved, is truly one of the most precious promises God has blessed us with. That tells us that although life is designed to throw obstacles across our paths, we can still stand firm on the word of God with immovable, unshakable, unwavering faith.

Philippians 4:6 reminds us to not worry or be anxious for anything, but by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, to submit those requests up to God. Today I challenge you to never allow the struggles of life to detour you from your purpose or the promises of God. Build a solid foundation with faith based confidence knowing that if God called you to it, he will surely see you through it.

"God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved; God shall help her, just @ the break of dawn" (Psalm 46:5)

Spiritual Inspiration: "Chase Your Brand New"

Too many times we allow certain trials to overstay their welcome when God has already blessed us with deliverance. In turn we hinder embracing and walking into our brand new. We remain stuck and stagnant in a place that will prevent us from fulfilling the purpose for which we were created.

Yes, life will bring about trials, burdens, and tribulations....but they are not meant to stay. The Word of God tells us "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivered him out of them all" (Psalm 34:19). This is a new season. It is time to stop allowing ourselves to become content with being the victim. It is time to stop allowing ourselves to suffer through life. God blessed us with the power of choice. Now is the time to choose to walk into the season of opportunity awaiting us. It is time to choose to walk into our season of prosperity. This is the season where we choose to chase our brand new.

It all starts with faith. Faith is the ammunition we need in order to not only start the race and take off but most importantly to finish the race. The next step is to walk in an attitude of faith and expectancy. Instead of embracing all that has gone wrong in our lives we need to speak life and power into our circumstances. Remind ourselves that this is a brand new season a time to take hold of bigger and better things.
Prayer plays a major role in us chasing our brand new. In our prayers we must pray to the Holy Spirit for guidance, protection, and encouragement. So that when chasing our brand new we not lose hope or sight of what is really important. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1). We must trust the Holy Spirit to lead us into all the good that God has for us; even when we may not "see" it.
Do not sit around waiting to see what everyone else is going to do and then make a move. It is time to stir ourselves up, make a decision, and get going. This is the season to place confidence in all areas of our lives. This is the season to not only hope but to believe. This is the season to walk into our blessings. This is the season to walk into our brand new!
“Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending”

Beauty Talk: "5 Amazing Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water"

Disclaimer: I'm no personal trainer nor am I one of those "health freaks" I just make an everyday conscience effort to monitor what I put into my body. I have never been into dieting (& never will be) I just make sure to eat healthy on a daily basis and when I do partake in the "not so healthy" foods I eat it in moderation.

One thing I live by though is drinking lemon water on a regular basis. Here's a few reasons why you should add lemon water to your diet:
1) It helps to detox your body and skin.
2) Keeps skin glowing
3) Aids in digestion
4) Can help you lose weight
5) Inexpensive to make

Spiritual Inspiration: "Let Your Faith Be Your Shield"

Our faith is a shield, a shield that can be used to protect us from the enemy. There comes a time when we have to take a firm stance and stop allowing the enemy to attack our faith.

God's will is not for us to suffer through life. His desire is not for us to be weary and broken. Trials come to teach us, to strengthen us, to prepare us for what is before us, and to give us a testimony. Trials are not meant to stay. We have to stop allowing trials to overstay their welcome. God is a mighty God, mighty enough to deliver us from anything. The Word tells us "Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all"(Psalm 34:19).Yes we will have trails.....yes we will have struggles...but they are not meant to stay!

It is time to stop coping with problems that God can and will deliver us out of. (James 4:7) instructs us to "resist the devil and he will flee". This is the season to stand up and fight back. This is the season to resist the attack the enemy wishes to bring. Stand firm on the Word of God and use the shield of faith.

It is no secret that we have an enemy trying to keep us from entering the promises of God. His Word tells us to "be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). When we feel as though our faith is being attacked we must pray a prayer for strength, courage, and wisdom to continue walking by faith.

Today I challenge you to declare the word of God in your life. Resist the enemy and his tactics to shake your faith. Do not dare embrace your problems nor the enemy. Speak life for greater is He who is in you than he that is in this world! (1John 4:4) Declare by faith today that everything you touch will prosper, you will be of good health, and stress free.

I have learned that it is a battle between trials and faith. Trials do not automatically make me stronger. I am constantly in a battle. If my faith is not fighting back, then I cannot win. So I have to take heed to the Word of God and do just as Ephesians 6:16-18 tells me:

"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints".

Business Talk: Workplace Expectations

Workplace expectations is one of my favorite topics. You cannot assume that employees will know what to do, when to do it, and how to do it. As a manager, supervisor, or business owner you have to communicate clear expectations to your employees and subordinates. As a supervisor I sit down with my subordinates and go over my expectations as well as provide them with their full job descriptions and duties. As an employee if I go into a new workplace environment and my manager or supervisor does not offer me a feedback session within 30 days to go over their expectations, then I take it upon myself to request one. I want to do my best and put my best foot forward, however I cannot do that without workplace expectations being properly communicated. Just as what I may consider to be my best work may not be the same in my supervisor’s eyes.

"Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence" (Vince Lombardi)

A few expectations that are important to me within my workplace:
1. Effective Communication
2. Effective Leadership
3. Effective Time Management
4. Respectful Environment
5. Professional Environment
6. Professional Development
Each of these expectations are important for my position as a supervisor because without these expectations I cannot run my office smoothly and extend quality customer service to those I service. These are expectations I must follow and set the example for my subordinates. If I run my office without operating within these expectations then my subordinates could possibly get the impression that the above is not important. I communicate these expectations through initial feedback sessions which are conducted within 30 days of hiring. I also provide mid-term feedbacks and yearly evaluations. The evaluation process allows subordinates to see how well (or not so well) they performed within the last year. We discuss new professional goals and collectively come up with a plan on how to successfully accomplish each goal.
How do you know what is expect of you at work?
What expectations are important to you in your current position?
What are some ways you communicate your expectations within your workplace?

Fashion Talk: Underwear and Body Types

Amazingly an estimated 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size! Wearing the right underwear for your body shape is essential. For the best results choose well fitting undergarments that will compliment your figure.

Wearing a bra that is the correct size and style for your body shape will give a great foundation for the clothes you wear and can also have a big effect on how good you look and feel.

As in shopping for your wardrobe the same goes with shopping for your underwear. You need to KNOW & UNDERSTAND your body shape.

The apple and hourglass figures tend to have a fuller bust and the pear and boyish shape are usually smaller busted. It is imperative to know & understand  your body shape.

The best sizing guide is what will fit you comfortably in both the bra band and the bra cup.

THE BRA BAND:The bra band, should fit with support, if it moves about too much, leaves red marks, rides up at the back or the shoulder straps, or dig into your skin then you have the wrong band fit.

New bras should be comfortably worn on the second or third hook, this will then give enough room for adjustment as bras ages and tend to stretch with age.

Incorrectly fitted bras can result in puckering, rubbing and even back pain!

The bra cup should support the breast without being too tight, if the cup results in the breast spilling out then opt to try on a larger cup size.

Apple Shaped Women:
 Larger Bust
Broader Shoulders
Narrower Hips
Less Defined Waist
  • Because our Apples tend to have larger breasts, it is essential to choose a well-fitting bra that provides the correct lift and support you need. The right bra completes the enhancement and should also be comfortable to wear. With larger breasts it is also a good idea to go for a professional measurement from time to time.
Pear Shaped Women:
Wider hips and thighs
Narrower shoulders
Wider bottom
Smaller bust
  • Underwear for pear shaped ladies should aim at visually increasing the breast size.
Athletic Shaped Women:
Undefined Waist
Narrower Hips
Small Bust
  • Underwear for athletic shaped ladies should aim at visually increasing the breast, hips, and butt and at the same time visually trimming the waist to appear smaller, which gives the look of a curvier figure.

Hourglass Shaped Women:
Bust and hips nearly the same size
Well defined waist - 9" or more smaller than bust
Full Bust
Shapely Legs
  • The hourglass has the perfect body shape, embrase your curves but ensure you wear the correct sized underwear.
